President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo made this announcement when the Ghana Black Satellite Team presented the 2021 AFCON U20 Trophy won in Mauritania to him at the seat of government on Tuesday, 9, 2021.

However, he made it clear that half of the money to the players will be in cash while the remaining half will be put into an investment for the players, considering the short duration footballers spent in sports.
